I LOVE grapefruit flavored anything. This recipe is inspired by a drink I had at Starbucks in Korea last year- the Iced Shaken Honey Ruby Grapefruit Black Tea. So delicious!! But only available at Starbucks in Asia. Womp.

It’s ok though, I recreated it at home and it’s just as delicious!

I recommend making grapefruit honey cheong (Korean style fruit syrup) for this drink because of its convenience (especially if you’re going to make this drink as often as I do). It stores well and develops better flavor than making it fresh in my opinion! You can make my recipe here.

Ingredients

Method #1

  • Grapefruit honey cheong- quick and convenient to use and stores well, but it does take a little work to make it. Use my recipe here.
  • Black tea– recommend earl grey but use whatever you like!
  • Ice– crushed filtered ice

 Method #2

  • Grapefruit- option to use just the juice if you don’t like pulp. If using the pulp, you need to remove as much of the pith and membrane as possible (it’s really bitter).
  • Honey– please use real honey!
  • Simple syrup– optional but highly recommended. You can use just honey if you prefer, but I think it tastes better to use both.
  • Black Tea- recommend earl grey but use whatever you like!
  • Ice- crushed filtered ice

    1. did you keep the tea bag in it until cooled or steep it for 4-6 minutes before removing and then cooling?

This drink is to die for!!! I miss having fun Asian inspired drinks that I grew up having, and this hits the spot – so easy to make, and it takes me back to summers I had in Korea. 🤌🏼
